The A2630 is actually a very good card! Set your A2000 up properly with one and you may be surprised how spunky Workbench becomes.

I suggest only upgrade the zip ram to a full 4MB and do NOT use any zorro based ram expansions, including the A2091. Zorro ram will slow the system to a crawl.

Yes, they are the wrong type. You need 256k×4 (page mode), the ones I have are 1Mx4.

256kx4 are actually much cheaper, if you can find them.

Are you saying that there is an incompatibility of sorts when using these two common Commodore Amiga products together? Wow.

Not at all, I didn't mean to imply compatibility issues. Zorro II RAM cards are painfully slow simply because of the terrible bottleneck of the Zorro II bus itself.

-Edit-
If you are using a stock 6800 machine, you won't see a difference. If you are using an 030 or up, it is like night and day.

Or an 020... which was precisely the marketing behind GVP and others that used to claim you could double your A1200's speed simply by adding Fast Ram.

Confucius say: 16-bit RAM not good in 32-bit wide native system.
