« on: April 03, 2009, 03:36:14 AM »
my a3000D has 1 meg of chip and expansion sockets for another 1meg. do i need the fat agnes chip for it to recognize 2 megs of chip or is it good to go as is. would the a3000D have already come with the appropriate agnes chip to utilize 2meg of chip ram? it seems like it should have otherwise why the empty chip ram expansion sockets???

A3000 came with the correct 2MB Agnus.  Standard A3000 2MB configuration was 1MB Chip and 1MB Fast using the DIP sockets.  You could then swap the 1MB Fast DIPs over to Chip RAM and populate the Fast RAM (ZIP sockets).
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Or contact DJBase and order his ZIP-SIMM converter, price is very reasonable considering the cost of ZIP RAM.
