Wanted: 68000
« on: March 10, 2008, 11:25:41 PM »
My Amiga 2000 which I recently dragged up from the basement as a 2630 card in it, but no 68000.  Anybody got a spare 68000 they want to get rid of?

FYI...

Some A2Ks, notably the "BSW" boards, require that the 68K be pulled when an accel card is installed. If you just want to have one around should you want to remove the 2630, then go ahead - but be warned your accel may not work with it installed (it won't hurt anything to try it out).

Also, I have a couple lying around, as I would replace them with a 68010 any chance I got. The '010 is a drop-in replacement, and you can use that, too. The speed-up is hardly noticeable (typically 2-5% on some things), but most chips you'll find have the ceramic package, which is why I like them (heat tolerant).

He has a B2000 Rev 4.4 which I think should be ok to have an accelerator and a 68k in place.

thanks a lot, everyone.  I am not really sure why it was pulled.  Gdanko is going to dig one up for me!

But you don't need one, you'll never use it! You've got a wonderful A2630.
