hi,from Tennessee
« on: January 22, 2008, 09:12:04 AM »
hello all!
i first got an Amiga 1200 on march 5,1993
iused is almost every day until fall '98 when i moved back to nashville from chicago. i attended the school of the art institute of chicago 1987-91(and took individual classes till 96)in chicago,  i called the bbs's Omega, and Ripco and others.
in 2000 i purchased a pc and was always frustrated by windoze.
just got Amiga Forever running on my acer laptop(the cheapest one i could find LOL)i downloaded it in july , but it just wouldn't run on vista (as well as other problems with vista) so i had xp installed and everything seems to work! ( i still can't print from within uae ,but tht's ok)
i'm mostly working in Gimp now and would like to try some amigademo inspired animations.

Welcome to Amiga.org!

Great that you got Amiga Forever installed and working.  As far as the Amiga goes for me, I just use OS 3.0 since that is the only version of the OS I used when I had my Amiga 1200.  I do have OS 3.9 going, but I just miss the plain looking workbench that I was used to.

Have fun and enjoy computing when it rocked!

i still do audio-visual work sometimes here in nashville (mostly installation work in peoples homes - they usually  treat me like a cleaning lady or something but it pays well

strange how some people with money can't even be bothered to even pick out what their components or open a box LOL
just installed a Yamaha sound projector(they soud fantastic and cheaper than the bose home theater stuff)

i'm also an artist , so i try to work on art work 75% of the time (wich adds up to me making less than 33 cents an hour (if i was only better at promoting myself LOL)

so what do you do?
