A flawless gcc installation first time round? That's almost nigh on impossible :-)

And, as a matter of fact, Psygnosis games WERE difficult, weren't they? OK, gotta go, see ya later! Be funky M A D

Did anyone get anywhere with Aunt Artic Adventure? 2 Player jobby, one was a penguin, the other a monkey. You had to collect fish and bananas.
Addictive but difficult. Aunt Artic Adventure |

Nowadays it's Feeble Files. In the "good old days"
it was FATE - Gates of Dawn. The first one has very hard puzzles, the latter was economically desastrous, but had all best prizes in the mags. It came from Reline, here in D. I do not know any person who ever completed this game, except of the programmer himself (Olaf Patzenhauer, AFAIRC). They wanted to do a Guiness Record of Gaming with FATE. You have to draw all the maps manually on paper (Double DIN A 4), but there is a overview function (Towns, villages, area). It came on two simple disks and was a world as big to explore as today is only overcome by Online RPGs. Greetings, Scholle |

Getting the hovercraft off the ground was easy enough, but trying to out manoever and shoot down one of those pesky fighters was an object lesson in patience. Imagine sitting on the door sill of your car, steering with your foot and trying to reverse park and you have some idea. There's quite a few games with nasty control settings... Trying to get your Cobra Mk III to dock with a space station for the first time in Elite was more hazardous than actual combat, getting your Lightning to land in Jet Pilot was equally difficult and of course we have Whirligig. Imagine Virus set in space, with extra sensitive mouse controls... Grrr! |

Hoya!
Yeah, Whirligig! I had it on my ST and was quite good at it. Then, some times ago I got it on Ammy and... EEEEEKKKKK! I cannot manage to control the damn ship! But I believe it is quite original a game. And there is another classic I had on ST and was quite good at it, then got it on Ammy and EEEEKKKK! Space Harrier! On Atari, I reached the very last boss but did not kill it, will on Ammy, I keep on struggling to go past the first couple of levels. Should try harder I guess... There is also another game which was incredibly hard, but not on Ammy, on CPC. It was a Mastertronic classic called The Last V8! IIRC, it was released on Speccy and C64 too. Boy, you had only ONE life to finish the game! Eeek! And by the way, have someone really finished ANY of the Turricans WITHOUT cheating??? Be funky M A D

Well just to pick one game would be ... difficult :-D
My votes go for : * Saint Dragon (the 3rd(?) level was impossible to avoid the rocks coming from above and bellow !) * Shadow of the Beast 2 (good gfx does not make a good game) * Shadow of the Beast 1 (it was also damn tough)
