This is a family oriented site, please keep everything on a low G to PG rating. Anything PG13 or up will likely get removed.

Out of curiosity, what does these G, PG, etc really mean?
They don't have any practical meaning in Sweden, so I
haven't learned the abbreviation. I know PG is Parental
Guidance, but there is a whole range of abbreviations
(supposedly to less and less children-appropriate
content)...?

Anyone care to enlighten me?

Hey Red, I see you managed to capture that before I removed it. :-P

On the Florida bit. Unfortunately the Company has declined to move the tech department to Florida. I will be revisiting options with them in February. If they still hold the same possition on the move then I will be looking for other avenues to move to FL. One way or another I am going to get there.

On the Dolphins... What a waste of talent. I mean they had the team this year. I'm still in shock, I really am! I'm gonna leave before I get too heated on this one! :-P

In regards to the average youth of our members, please keep in mind a couple of facts;

1) Most were born in the 80s
2) In the mid 90's as most of our users were reaching puberty, most of their parents (former Amigans) were giving up their Amigas and buying PC's. Which would you rather give a 10 year old? A brand new, $2000 machine, or an antiquated, non-standard machine that you'd already paid for which could entertain the kids and allow them to write letters to grandma and play music mods for free?

rated PG means if you are under 13 you can only view if if you are with a parent or some one 18(sometimes 21)

rated R means you have to be 18 to view
rated xxx means its extremely graphic sex related

there are practically milions of such sites and there is just no place here to things completely unrelated

unless theres some stipper that uses imageFX or something to do her book or a stoner that likes playing DeluxeGalaga with fellow dudes and chicks for hours and hours....

Eek, neither. A Playstation 2 would be a better (and less finacially draining) choice. It's more reasonable to get a PC for a family, but my neice for one was more interested in playing with DPaint on a vanilla A1200 than trying to get slow WindowsXP to do anything. In fact, in my own experience, the family PC just generates fights and unnecessary problems, constantly sucks away money, and is usually left to gather dust anyway.

Anyway, this is completely OT, so you can safely ignore this. I agree with you about the ####### language matter, though ;-)

"G" means "general audience", good for all ages

"PG" means "Parental Guidance", some questionable content, not for tiny kids.

"PG-13" means "Parental Guidance 13", not recomended for those under 13

"R" means "Restriced" , very adult content not recomended for anyone under 17.

"NC-17" not sure what the N stands for. No one under 17 permited without an adult. This is the rating that was relatively recently institued to replace "X", because the X rating had become known for porn.

"X" was originaly meant for what NC-17 is today. It became a stigma afterthe porn industry used it as a selling point, and no movie house would dare let a real movie be rated this.
