just thought I'd bring this to the attention of all you Xoops addicts who don't often venture to forums without avatar support :-P but ann.lu has been threatened with legal action and Christian has said he may shut the site down :-(

I could care less about companies suing other companies. Let them play their corporation games, who cares. But leave the Websites alone. I get a bit defensive about people threatening sites I frequent.

You know what I don't understand? We've seen sites threatened before, and the same thing happens EVERY time. people get pissed.

WHY anyone would do it again after seeing the bad PR it's generated for those that have done it in the past  is way beyond me. it's dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.

Where did you get the info from that it was bbrv/genesi that the issue is from?

First off, Genesi are not sueing ANN.lu or Christian Kemp. From what I hear, it's the other way around - Kemp is suing Genesi for the money he was not paid by them and believes he's entitled to. Genesi seem to have responded by making legal threats.

So put down your pipebombs, put a hold on your order cancellations, stop swinging those baseball bats, and watch it play out. Like most real world confrontations, it probably has no good guy. Genesi are making threats to save their own skin and Kemp is using his site as a political weapon against Genesi. Don't be too quick to take sides - yet.
