Well there are some of us that RESPECT those who choose to defend. I am one. in the US, depending on if you are Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine, or Coast Guard. there are web sites for all.
Aviation Now is a well updated site, as well as some shipmakers sites, "Northrop-Grummen". Stay out of harms way, ie: watchyerbut, or is it CYA.

Perhaps the pricks I've met on the internet are too cowardly to actually voice their reasons for signing up in person. Certainly where I come from, a lot of racists seem interested in joining the forces and go in with this attitude.

I was challenging the idea that everyone who's in the military is all about noble defense, and your comment "some of us RESPECT those who choose to defend..."

BTW, were you born prejudice or did you have to work at it?

I have a perfectly natural dislike of the military, it respresents conflict and is not purely a defense measure, if it was I'd consider it a necessary evil.

Killing leaves a bad taste in your mouth and it's one that will never go away. :-( Regardless of whether it was 'confirmed' or not, you will remember and it will never leave you. I speak from experience here. :-( :-(

Armies were created to defend countries during war, not to start them. Shame that the President technically has executive order over the Army for 6 months before congress HAS to get involved.

Never met one of those either. The people I've talked to don't even expect to go to war. They join to learn a trade and get funds for College. I don't know where you people get your "sky is falling attitude".
There are actually some good people out there. You must live in an awfull place.
