Default CD32 SX-1 pc keyboard problem

Hi,

I bought an SX-1 for my CD32 used a couple of years ago. The seller warned me that the port for connecting a pc keyboard was a bit loose, but after some "wiggling" it usually worked.
Alas, some months ago, the port stopped working alltogether. When I wiggled the keyboard plug a bit, the LEDs of the keyboard blinked for a second, but nothing more.
I got a friend of mine to replace the keyboard port. As it's a standard AT keyboard port, he just soldered one from an old pentium mainboard onto the board.
It worked! For about 30 seconds. Then the LEDs of the keyboard stayed on, but it didn't respond to input.
I switched to another keyboard, and the same thing happened. It worked for 30 seconds, then it didn't work anymore. I did this with 4 different keyboards. When I try any of the ones I have already tested, they won't work anymore.
What could be wrong? The keyboard controller on the SX-1, one of the two CIA chips or the keyboard port?
I'm going to buy two new CIA chips. Is the keyboard controller chip on the SX-1 a custom chip, and can it be bought anywhere? :-?

I know I can just buy a standard Amiga keyboard and attach it to the CD32, but I don't want to. :-x

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. If any of you know anything at all about the SX-1, please take the time to respond. :-(

I had problems with the keyboard port on my sx-1 as well. I replaced the AT port with a new one and now it works fine. My guess is that it's most likely a broken connection on the port.

Thanks! I'll try to buy a completely new one and have a friend re-solder it
