Plipbox usability
« on: November 30, 2015, 12:14:56 AM »
So, pondering networking on an A500.

Configuration is 8MB Fast, 1MB Chip RAM.

OS 3.1

What sort of speeds are people seeing out of the plipbox.

That seems to be the ideal setup for an A500.

Please comment.

dont quote me on this since i checked months ago,i seem to think i was seeing around 15K/s or so browsing on the 500. i was using it with a csa derringer with 030.

hard to say if you will see those results with 68000.

it worked well for ftp, browsing and anything i threw at it, surprisingly well!

I also have CSA Derringer 030 @50Mhz. My speeds were about 40kbyte/s.

Wonder how the lack of the 030 would affect performance?

For transferring files, yes. For browsing, no.
