Question about Commodore PC clone keyboards?
« on: November 29, 2015, 06:58:47 PM »
Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone knows about the quality of the keyboards that came with Commodore's PC clones. Some of them look exactly like IBM Model-M keyboards (which are the gold standard). However, I know that in the late 1980s and 90s there were a lot of Model M clones that looked externally like Model-M's but didn't have the same high build quality or feel. I think IBM still held the patent on the buckling spring design at this time so it seems unlikely Commodore (or whoever supplied their PC keyboards) would have been using it as well.

Anyone out there tried one of these side by side with a real Model-M?

Also, is there any smart device out there which would allow one to use an Amiga 2000/3000/4000 keyboard with a PC?  I hear that the Keyrah converts A1200 keyboard signals for use on a PC.
