Does the video card need  to be a voodoo in order for the network card to work ?

No but you may need to configure the Radeonmem file so that there's memory available for PCI-PCI DMA.

Also use the pciinfo comand in C: to check that the card is showing up.

Have you tried openpci.lib and it's drivers? Also there's a/b/c/d versions of rtl8139, do mediator drivers support all of them? (never had a mediator myself)
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

What  kind of error do you get then?

How does the output from pciinfo looks like?

Some users have reported that they had to put the voodoo/nic in a particular order but i have never experienced that, i have my GFX in the lowest slot and then the nic.

Would you mind telling us a bit more information?

The Radeon needs to be working and the MedConfig run to set up the ENV settings; PCIinfo will tell you that the cards are recognized.  What TCP/IP stack are you using and how did you test?  Pinging the router is the first test for basic function, is that how you tested?

The Radeon card is 128mb and I'm only using 31mb.

Look on the realtek chip on the card. more than likely the number will end in a,b,c,d. It may also be noted on the pcb somewhere.
