Default Upgrading CacheCDFS

I'm curious to see if I can or even need to upgrade my install of CacheCDFS. When I installed 3.9 I did it using an emergency disk I made from the CD after booting from a 3.1 install. My Cache install was from the BuddahIDE install disk. After I booted from the emergency disk I formated my 3.1 hard drive and installed 3.9 again using the emergency disk which moved my old CacheCDFS over.

Question is, how do I know what version I have and if its older then the one on the 3.9 CD is just running the install CDFS setup all I need to do?

The latest version of CacheCDFS is 42.19.
Using OS 3.9+BB2 here.

You can copy it directly from the OS 3.9 CD, it's not updated in any of the Boing Bags.
AmigaOS3.9:OS-Version3.9/CacheCDFS/L/CacheCDFS

Backup your old version in case the new one is somehow not compatible with something.

So I can just run the install from the 3.9 CD and it should put the new version on my system them?

You can do it this way, but it will replace all your settings. I'd rather suggest to manually copy only the file "CacheCDFS" from the CD to your L directory. So only the program file will be upgraded and all settings stay in place.

IMHO you don't need to upgrade the CacheCDFS. From what I heard the original version from the IDEfix package (which comes on the Buddha disk) is identical to the OS3.9 one, only the version numbers have been changed.

Bye,
Thomas
