Aros Vision 1.5.8. uploaded
« on: March 04, 2013, 12:12:25 PM »
I have just uploaded Version 1.5.8. of AROS Vision. It is much more stable and reliable than before and includes updated system files and roms and a number of new additions in audio and internet including GoatTracker and NewsCoaster. Thank you for the permission to integrate Amijeweled Demo.

There is a description and many screenshots that give a better impression of the distribution:

Next I plan to publish a big gamepack. Further projects will follow.

Hi there,

thank you for the great work.

Can I run this on a classic Amiga 1200 with 68060/50 and AGA ?

Thanks

Thanks for the update, one day I hope to replace my patched 3.9 install with this on my classic machine.
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Hmm well attempted to use it on my 060 setup was a no go for some reason :-( Couldn't get it to look like the screenshots and a lot of the apps provided didn't run.

Back to 3.9 :-/ Will go back to sitting on the fence for the next release :-)

Hmm I do not use "real hardware" so cannot give many advices. I know that Wawa managed to run Aros 68k with Scalos on 060 so it should be possible. At least you should change the screenmode to PAL/NTSC before installing it because there is one of the RTG modes preinstalled. I have sent the link from this thread to Wawa and asked if he can give some advices.

hold on i think the hidd modifications dont let aros boot just now on real hardware. at least the last nightlies. olafs distro is likely based on earlier binaries so it might work. i for my part will wait till new implementation has been fixed.

"Classic" is the full version without most of the applications, tools, utilities. A kind of base system.
