...this sounds like one of those "Sorry honey, I 'tried' to sell it on ebay but no one bid, guess I'll have to keep it!" stories.  ;)

I am only curious. If a basic bread C64 is sold for $700 how much would an Amiga 1200 with USB Sub would go for then? If the prices are this insane, can we say an Amiga 1200 with USB Sub would go for an easy $1500 dollars or $2000 just to match the insanity posted in eBay?

Put a number you would think an Amiga 1200 with USB Sub that match the insanity in eBay for fun....

Well, Is it insane to buy not to sell, I think?  Anyways very sweeet early machine, even appealing to myself. Ah, $700, what can you buy for that kind of money these days. It's the matter of preference, I'll say. It's kind of unloading $1-2 million for original '71 Hemi Cuda Convertible (sold at some U.S. auction in recent years) , while it's a "low tech" machine considered by today standards.... Ok, lowtech with 425Hp on tap, but still. :)

Yeah, its stupid.
Still wouldn't bet against him getting it.
Remember thee guy that wanted $5000 for a Lisa1?
I think he got it.

And that's something I'd be dumping in the rubbish bin.

You all haven't been keeping up with prices!
A silver label C-64 will bring $300.00 in poor to so-so condition. They have been bringing $600.00 for over a year in very good to excellent condition - and that isn't only on ebay!
Look through the 8 bit forums for a wake up call.....
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

A silver label C-64 is a wee bit different than your "classic breadbox Etc., etc" They are few and far between - which always seems to boil down to $$$$$$.

A silver label C64 went for about $299 US on eBay a couple of weeks ago, and it didn't have the original box like this one does.

Indeed, and the sellers are the smart ones :) They're thinking: "Why the hell not? There must be some loonies out there.".

That's about the going rate for these machines, so no, it's not crazy.  The silver label machines are about as rare as the Boing Ball logo A1000's.
