Hi i have noticed at on my controllers for my 2000 at the back there is so you can connect a cable, and also on my 2630 for my Amiga 2000 there is the same. Do you know what they are used for?

I think we have a slight language hitch here.
There are not many cable connections on the back of the A2000 - there are the audio connectors (both called RCA type connectors) and one composite video connector (also RCA). Are either of these what you mean? |

it is on the back of my SCSI Controller and my 2630 CPU i noticed them, they look like the ones on the back on every Amiga, like them you would connect a external Disk Drive to or to a Monitor.

The SCSI cards have a 25-pin SCSI connector; the printer port and serial port are also 25-pin connections. NONE of these are interchangeable!
The video and floppy drive ports are 23-pin connectors. On the Amiga A2000 itself the similar pin number ports are male vs female; the SCSI 25-pin port is female. Unless my A2630 CPU card is wrong, it has no connector on the back Last edited by danbeaver; 09-18-2012 at 07:39 PM.. Reason: Left out |

Correct, the A2630 does NOT have SCSI on it so there is no SCSI port. The A2091 card usually has a DB25 SCSI port on it though, as do other SCSI cards...

Remember that some of the ports may look the same, but are vastly different in function(s). |

On the A2091, in order to use the 25 pin external SCSI connector, do you have to remove termination resistors that are soldered on the board itself? The reason I ask, is that I have a SCSI ZIP drive I was thinking about messing around with.

@k4lmp
No, the term resistors do not need to be removed. They terminate the controller. |

Yes, but no...scsi on the amiga can be an arcane task... The 2091 is the end, and you are on the right track, from the external connecter, only the last device should be terminated. I have to find the docs re the 2091, but I've never removed the term packs from mine... and I have scsi devices going in both directions. let me find those threads on the 2091....? Thanks for the info, however, I don't want to hijack the thread. I'll start a new one. Thanks.
