Mount ADF on real amiga?
« on: September 11, 2012, 05:41:10 AM »
Are there an application out there to mount an ADF file on a real amiga, without needing to write it to disk?

I guess an amiga floppy counterpart to something like Acetone or Demontools for mounting CD's on new OS's?

There was a thread where the DiskImage.device and GUI was discussed, and Xanxi gave some good replies to help get that installed. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it's on my to-do list. The thread about it is here - http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62021

Personally I use FMS, which mounts a virtual disk that uses a directory on your hard drive, you can write ADF and DMS images to it or just use it to work on your own floppy-based projects without using a real disk. You can download FMS from Aminet.

Just download TransADF (http://aminet.net/disk/misc/TransADF.lha) and TransADF-GUI (http://aminet.net/disk/misc/TransADFGUI.lha) to mount adf-images using RAD: device.

I would recommend the hardware approach to using ADFs.
