A3000 U259 tracks
« on: September 08, 2012, 07:27:03 AM »
On examining my A3000 (a recent acquisition), I noticed that a couple of pins on chip U259 seem to be re-soldered/messed up. The underside is fine though.

Granted, from my testing the machine seems to work fine. Though what should I expect from this?

It's a 9/03 motherboard.

I've attached a couple of pics.

Appreciate any insight you guys can provide.

Definitely no clean job...

As long as the chipmem is working I wouldn't touch it though.

Yep, been using it for a few days now and ran some metests. Everything seems to be holding up, except for the SCSI HD - failing big time. Might as well get a SCSI->CF adapter.
