Hi Lassie,
I owned one years ago, used it as my server. It is an awesome system, very expandable. The case is almost laughable. About as heavy as a sherman tank! The heaviest Amiga every created by a long shot. Like the 3000D it is built with all the best stuff of any Amiga. The workmanship and pieces are top shelf, it feels like quality (Just don't move it by yourself). IMHO is had 2 improvements of a desktop. 1. It dealt with heat better than a 3000D. 2. Lots of expansion slots. Other than that, a 3000 D is a better choice for me. It fits on my desk and is a nice tidy package. Market prices today for a tower, fully working a spec'd out will cost you about a grand or so. Have fun... |

The 3000T is more rare than the 4000T which stripped go in the USD range of $800 to $1,200; a 3000T would be well above that. I've bought 2 A4000T's when new and outfitted both with All the good stuff -- CSPPC, Mediators, DVD-RW, UW320 HDD's, Indivision AGA MK2, etc. Trust me, a maxed out A4000T has at least another $2,500 invested in it.
Don't go down that alley unless you are single or will be when your partner finds out. Oh sorry Dude, don't know what the 3000Ts LEDs are, they are too rare for me to covet! Your neighbor's wife would be cheaper. |

Don't remember what the LED does, sad to say...
One other point is that not all accelerators fit perfectly in a 3000D. For example the scsi module for the CS MK II will not fit. I do not know but I would be surprised if a CS PPC Fit without modification. A 3000 Tower is not impossible to find and I don't think it will ruin your upcoming marriage. I got rid of mine to buy a Peg II and it was almost an even swap once I decked out the Peg II. Have patience and save for one, and your good to go. May want to hire a moving company to do the lifting ..

I have one. I suppose to some it up in one word would be 'big'. The motherboard in it is huge and the case is a full tower case. Also, as everyone else has mentioned, it is heavy. Except for the front panel, it is all made of solid steel.
While mine still works, it needs some work since the last few house moves were not kind to it (nor were some of my past flatmates). I need a new key lock which goes on the front since some of the pins went missing on the 3000T I have. That was one of the things I found quirky about the 3000T, if you wanted to reboot you computer, you could just turn the key lock on the front of it, and that would reboot it. It also had the advantages of the regular 3000D ie. VGA connector and 31Khz mode supported natively. |

I had one, it was nice. Never seen a non-expanded one sell for much more than $600-$700 on eBay, though, at least in the US.

I have one that I upgraded with some stuff. It has a Cyberstorm MKII 060, Prometheous PCI with Voodoo 3000 PCI, PCI NIC, 18GB SCSI HD and a SCSI DVD-ROM drive. I am using the onboard SCSI and it works great with it. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow.
