Default Question to all Amiga owners

Am i the only one waiting for an X1000? or have others giving up waiting..

I know that we should be thankful for choice, but Amiga Technologies managed to get the Amiga back out to high street dealers..

There does seem to be a lack of getting this machine out to buyers..

A-EON what is going on?

This is worst place to post any comments about Amiga OS4 or anything related. You put your self to risk to get personally insulted, without any limitatios from moderators.

I usually wrote only classic related things here.

X1000 is nice, but why not get Sam they are availlable. Even Sam 440ep Flex is nice machine, not so powerless than those who haven't ever used one said. I watch my favorite TV series with it without any problems

I bought Flex because it has a best software support of those products wich are currently availlable. I might buy 460 when they get 3D support out, or not. I'm very happy with my Flex.

Welcome to amigans.net / amigaworld.net

@ ultri007

Your comments are true; however, the usual suspects here have quieted down quite a bit lately

Those usual suspect are them those, who say that they have some other hobby OS, wich don't seems to interest them actually, because they write only OS4 threads Those people who haven't loved when they were kids, because they like to spoil other people joy, now when they are adults? Those people who like to hinting that Amiga hardware buyers are stupid, or at least duped? They of course know better than actual owners, how powerless and poor aCube/A-Eon computers are? And want to tell that 100x untill you admit that you are stupid and duped??? So you mean those people? They are quieter now?

Hi,

Well if they brought out a computer system like Commodore first brought out the C64, then there would be no problem with the computer. If you remember (if your old enough to) when Commodore first brought out the C64, they developed a magazine for support, and then they also brought out software so you had something to run on your computer.

If these companies done it right, and then offered support, then there would be no problem, but to rely on a couple of mediocore programmers to develope programs for it just ain't going to do the job.

You developed the hardware now support it.

A-EON what is going on?

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/x1000/

the A1X1000 appears to only be available as the 'first contact' configuration. prospective customers have to sign up with amigakit and register their interest. the systems were made in batches, but at this point, i believe they are sold out.

as klx300r suggested the best thing to do is talk to amigakit directly.

i had to wait a few months before being notified that i was 'next' on the list and able to order a system -- but by that point i had already spent the money on something else.

the good news is that A-EON and its partners are already working on a new system, and of course, acube systems offers its SAM440 and SAM460-based products, including the amigaone 500. as utri007 mentioned, for a variety of reasons, a lot of OS4 users are no longer active here, something i'm working on reversing. in the mean time sites like amigaworld.net and amigans.net might be your best bet on getting feedback from SAM owners to see if those boards would suffice for what you're looking for in next-generation amiga hardware.

I'm waiting for my X1000 as well.

I may as well give up - The probability of one just spontaneously showing up is slim....

Yes you are the only one who is waiting for one

Sorry could not resist

I'm not anti next-gen, I'd be very happy to see something innovative/interesting coming out but it appears (to me at least) that development is dropping to an all new low.

The classic scene on the other hand is really showing some interesting signs of life, with new software, new FPGA hardware and even updates to the original OS (eg the amazing new icon.library).

800x600x256 color Workbench using AGA -> icon.library

Quite happy with my A1200, well no USB yet but getting there. :-) Besides more fun trying to fit it all into a wedge.

The only thing about the classic Amiga is the crap browser, otherwise it would be very usable as an everyday computer. Which I'm almost doing, apart from my CF Card problems I've decided to go back to a laptop HDD.
