Hello there!
Recently cleared out my attic and found all my Amiga stuff, neatly tucked away! *yay* After digging through a lot of dust and hardware, i ended up with an A500+ with dead FDD, a A1200 with the same problem, and a ****load of peripherals (one of them: external FDD, also broken ).The 1200 was bought 7 years ago, to start my own lil' black Amiga project (yes, i even bought a CDTV keyboard for it, i know: blasphemy) but i never got around to do the actual project. This time, i dived in head first, and plan to finish it. Order a replacement FDD, got a slimline CDROM drive and a IDE/SD adapter + card. Prepped the card on my pc via WinUAR without problems, and i'm installing some WHDLoad games and Tiny Launcher as we speak! (im guessing my working day will not be very productive, from my employer's point of view )What i hope to find here? First and foremost, some help and advice, i'm definitely going to need some. Other than that, it's good to talk to people with an equal or greater appreciation for the awesomest computers ever made. Don't know if you guys have some sort of marketplace here, but i might have some hardware that could be of use to someone. That's about it. Oh wait, i'm from the Netherlands, bit older than the A1000, and the name is Miel

Thanks guys, pleasure to meet each and every one of you. Friggin hyped to get my Amiga going again! Can;t wait to get home and play some Sensi
![]() Will post some for-sales on the marketplace once i've catalogued my stuff. Mostly old gear, but might be useful to some people. And if people live close (Jiffy!), postal costs are very doable :P On the new hardware side of things: the slimline IDE adapter was just delivered. Seems the mailman used it as a chew toy for his pet though ![]() Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day, and my Black 1200 will definitely take longer

Welcome to Amiga.org.
If you need guidance on how to install the slim CDROM in A1200, look in my post at EAB http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=48042 Good luck.

![]() Planning to place my CD ROM on the right side of the A1200 though, with the tray on the rear panel. Should fit nicely. Still contemplating what materials to use to secure/connect the drive tray to the A1200 case or mobo shielding... I'll open a thread about the progress once i get some work and pictures done. |
