I don't know what the deal is. I just saw 2 working A1000s in a Baltimore (Glen Burnie) flea market for $100.00 each with original box, keyboards and mice (and the 256K RAM add on). They were both in great shape, and the seller had them running demos at his stall. People were trying get them for $50.00 or less....
Have Amiga users turned into cheapskates?! |

Another Amiga 1000 for sale on ebay. This one is heavily expanded, and in absolute perfect condition:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amiga-A100...item1c2d91db0e I've always wanted the "Amiga". I'd get it myself, but dare not have it posted, and it's too far to collect for me. Auction ends at 9.30PM (Friday 23rd November) and is currently at £42. Good luck.

If you aren't a collector then even USD 50 can seem like a lot for 26 year old electronics. The vast majority of the world doesn't care, that's why you use eBay, you need to find the pocket of collectors and enthusiasts that DOES care....
A "flea" market is the worst place to sell collectables. Quote:

I posted several A1000s in the silly ebay prices thread over the past several weeks. ebay US has had loads of A1000s for fair prices ($150.00 or less). |

Just got my A1000 delivered today. Woohoo!
Price wasn't bad at all on eBay, just the shipping to Canada is a killer. Bought this one without a keyboard, but already had one lying around. Boots up, everything is original (minus a couple of case screws) and the drive reads everything I've thrown at it so far. Without a doubt, the A1000 is my favourite machine of all. Got my first one in about October of 1984 - before the official release date - lots of "dealer" demos came with it then. I wish all the new machines (FPGA based or PPC, AROS, whatever) would play the A1000's startup tune as a tribute. There is also a really sweet A3000 on eBay right now too: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Commodore-Ami...ht_1058wt_1273 |

Here's an A1000 with a Microbotics 2Mb sidecar for 99.99. The keyboard is missing two key caps, but all in all it's not a bad deal. The seller has a 100% feedback record too. This is only one of several on ebay right now.

Actually, all I can seem to find are A1000s, at least on my local Craigslist. There are almost always more than two listings for NTSC A1000s in my area, and nothing else. Also, every person I know with an old Amiga has an A1000. It's almost like it was the most popular Amiga in my town.
I'd like to get my hands on an A500, but I can't find anybody local with one. |

Interestingly enough, after months of not a single Amiga listed, there's now two A1000's listed on my local craigslist. People cleaning house to make room for all the new junk they got over the holidays, perhaps?
