Personally, I'm not convinced. Last time he posted, the real John Shepard didn't use a proxy

Also, it seems someone has edited the post to indicate it's not authentic. More than likely only John could have done that.

If so, good riddance.

Place is a cesspool void of any amusement value in the least.

I'd compare it to 4chan, but I wouldn't want to insult 4chan.

I think that's both unfair and inaccurate. If anything, it's an interesting experiment in what happens when people aren't required to show any restraint and have near total anonymity.

That's just a slightly edited version of the final message on ann.lu.

Confirmed Not. And wouldn`t call Moo a Community Website,
Spitting Arena would suit it well.

I gotta admit that shutting Moo Bunny down isn't a half bad idea. At the very least it would put an end to, you know, checking my email before I leave for work and finding out someone's impersonating me.

Not shutting it down, not yet anyway.

In my experience, there are all kinds of websites that give people anonymity and the results are usually good.

It's the opposite of what most would expect, Wikipedia has had some issues, but more or less is an encyclopedia of some quality. That community doesn't appreciate rudeness, and will edit it out and it's just not a fun place for rude people to hang out.

The iPad app DrawSomething, would never be approved at many companies because of the fear that people would draw lewd drawings, but the reality of the game, is most people are respectful while using it, and children play the game all the time.

When people are anonymous - they are usually still well behaved. So, I would not say, the issue is anonymity - if anything it's a minor characteristic that may play into the overall culture but isn't the main issue.

Every community has its own culture, and the thing is, the cultures of some communities are somewhat rude.

I haven't been to Moobunny in years, so I'm only guessing that's the issue here.

Before this same thread was lock on AW.net someone took it upon themselves to again spread Amiga.org is for sale FUD. Once again, Amiga.org is not for sale because no one could afford what I would want for it.

Moobunny is the only totally open and free for all Amiga forum where everything can be said (and is). During the last few years, one, two or a few individuals have been spamming the site with somewhat immature crap, but that's something you easily learn to ignore. Agenda or not — It's just the way it works over there, it's the price for ultimate freedom without any regulations whatsoever. It's easily worth it, you quickly learn how to identify and skip the crap. Moobunny has a purpose, and has played an important role in formulating/affecting the common community opinion and knowledge in the past (and possibly will in the future as well). *Everyone* reads moobunny occasionally, regardless of what they may try to claim on other sites. Especially when something big has happened, like a new release, a new lawsuit, something controversial, etc. When that happens, people browse through the Amiga sites to see what is said about an issue, and then they go to moobunny to see what is *really* being said, the final verdict so to say. Opinions mixed with speculations mixed with facts. Those who don't go there may miss out on (more or less accurate) info. Stuff that is censored or suppressed by various other means (including such things as "politeness" and "acceptable social behavior" ) at other sites, are blown wide open at moobunny, free for all to discuss, all in the power of anonymity. It has been (and is) a place for whistle blowers and debates that aren't allowed on other sites, and occasionally (right in the middle of all "g@y p0rn n!gger" spam) there are actually really good quality technological debates! Moobunny does still have a purpose!

Well djnick, the update has been out for more than a decade. It is called MorphOS. It will solve your problems and do everything you asks for in that thread, and a lot more!

MorphOS is Amiga done right!

So we have 2 rumours coming from Moo in short time.
Should there be a higher reasoning to understand its a rumour mill no freedom cam justify. Just because freedom comes with responsibility.

Wikipedia is fine unless the facts displease the 3 founders so it is very flawed. The reasons for the required Greco-Turkish war in Cyprus (to stop the unchecked ethnic cleansing and torture camps of the Greeks) is constantly edited back to the popular lie. Somehow I don't think members of my family tortured themselves. Wikipedia is not a trustworthy repository of information.
