Shapeways A1200 Casing Design
« on: March 28, 2012, 02:15:32 AM »
Has anybody made an exact 3D model of the A1200 case? I'd love to make some subtle modifications and have them 3D printed at Shapeways? Maybe add some USB port locations for my subway or a laptop slim DVD drive coming out the back (all without cutting or shaving my original case). Maybe even some extra LEDS, etc...

You probably better off modding your own case then going through all of that imho. The mods you want arent That hard

I would love to see an enhanced and modernised a1200 case. I consider many features of the a1200 case to be dictated by the internals etc what might the case have looked like if the amiga had no disk drive or pcmcia slot. I think you could trim the design quite a  bit if you werent looking to just recase the original hardware. While we are on the subject I would also love to see.some sort of.wedge case for the rasberry pi. But thats off topic ...

If you can wait a week or so I can show you my "home-made version" of the A500 :)

Did you ever finish your "home-made" version?
