I am trying to amiga format a CF card through my PCMCIA CF adapter, partition it, install WB3.1 and boot WB from it The card is reckognized successfully in the Amiga Workbench, I managed to Quick format it (normal format did not work) and install (hopefully successfully) WB3.1 using the Install WB3.1 disk that comes with the original package.
I think I am stuck in the booting, becasue when I tell my Amiga to boot from CC0 from the hardware boot option (both mouse buttons pressed), it will not boot at all. A different sidenote, i noticed that if I change the priority order between Floppy and CC0, then reset, and enter again the boot menu, the order is lost / not saved. Is this because the battery of the Amiga isdead? I never changed the battery and the date shows wrong! Can amiga boot from CC0: ? Please help! |

As I recall, you can not boot from the PCMCIA slot on an an A1200, or 600 for that matter. The only way to boot a cf card is to attach it to the internal IDE via a CF card adapter and use HDTools to set up the CF card.
Then WB3.1 as you would a regualr hard disk.

Booting from CC0: is only for S-RAM PCMCIA cards formatted as storage.
CF would need at least the cfd drivers installed first to boot. You could probably do this with a boot floppy or maybe a custom Kickstart rom.

Thanks friends, I wait the CF-IDE adaptor and boot from there.
By chance, can one boot from a CD-ROM using scsi1230.device ? My boot devices are only CC0 and DF0 in the earlystartup menu |
