Diverse opinions are pointless. We can compute in the cloud now. Soon we can all merge into the WWM (World Wide Mind).

I wasn't discussing an opinion, I was discussing facts. Though it seems that hardly anyone here wants to discuss those facts and it is very creepy if you ask me, especially in an Amiga forum none the less.

I expected more people to see some of the out right and in your face warning signs that are present in the direction this world is "advancing", especially when sized up against the history of the wealthy forefathers (bankers, oil, and steel barons) of Mr. Gates himself. Direct blood relatives none the less. And no, I'm not talking conspiracy theory here, I'm just talking about family tree and what that family has done to us, our parents, our parent's parent's, their parent's parent's and so forth.

The problem is that the victim never tells the stories that get repeated over and over again and become truth. Rather then tale of the victims becomes myth, and the real myth becomes reality, and this in turn results in a swarm of people who don't know black from white, or up from down because all they know is the propaganda.

Makes a guy start to feel kind of alone, like a stranger in his own home...

I'm very alarmed at the pace of change in society and what drives it.

I've never heard anything about Bill's pedigree.

Or in his city, his company, or watching the next generation.

Many documentaries and docufilms such as Pirates of Silicon Valley like to transform the stories of certain trust fund children with parents and other relatives in high places...

Into rags to riches stories that show that the pseudo-Free Market and the Amaerican Capitalists system does and can work for anyone despite their culture, color, morals, ethics, Religion, etc.

As a matter of fact the Gates name was legend at the turn of the 20th century, and they, as the elite always do, intermarried with other elite in possissions of power, influence, and brute force. (read the history of the interrelationship between the oil barons and the 19th century settlers and land owners as an example.)

Needles to say, Mr. Gates did not get his meeting with he heads of IBM by sheer chance or because of charisma and wit. Rather his mommy set up the meeting because she was old and close friends with the CEO or Chairman or what ever.

Oh, and speaking of The Next Generation.

Have you noticed that wil wheaton has resurfaced recently?

I first noticed him in The Guild with Falicia Day.

Funny stuff.

The guy's a ruthless businessman, and that's been a great benefit to him. Now he's being a nice guy and is handing out cash to people that need it - and people are complaining about him being a ruthless businessman in the 90's.

Imagine, just for a second, that all ruthless businessmen in the World decided to give large chunks of their fortunes to charity. It would be awesome.

My point is that BG isn't the bad guy here; he's a role model.

Well, extrapolating from this thread, Bill`s dastardly scheme to buy himself a respectable image (which he doesn`t need) by giving billions of dollars to charity is cutting no ice whatsoever with anyone so, you have to ask, why exactly is he doing it?

The Same game David Rockafeller Sr. Played when his public image was in ruin?

His intentions were pure, people just misunderstood him, poor guy. :/

I guess the stories about MS and Gates are well over exaggerated. Tall poppies draw the biggest claims of conspiracy. But there is no doubt that he is a good guy at heart. Business is business and philanthropy is philanthropy. Mr Gates is one of, or the greatest, personal philanthropic benefactors in the world.
And it’s not easy. It’s easier to keep your millions then to find worthy people/charities to donate to. Just ask Franko.

I'd rather consider how he made those tens of billions of dollars - abuse of monopoly, some seriously underhand manoeuvres, etc. These cost people a lot, and in my opinion held the PC industry back a long time. In addition money stacked away in savings is money not circulating in the economy.

But if we consider the money paid to Microsoft for their sub-standard software and buggy Office suites as being an investment in future philanthropy, then maybe it's all okay. But in that case the people donating the money are the people who've had to use Microsoft products one way or another, and not Bill Gates.
He should fund things like Natami/Firebee etc 100% free and give xbox 360 motherboard development time and OS development resource FREE to anyone who wants to build a next gen Amiga or similar.

That Windows sh1t is why the excitement of diverse incompatible revolutionary change per generation/model of 80s computing is gone forever.

And don't bother sticking up for him as he tried to **** Sony (and hence us) with funding/support for HD DVD lame donkey tech vs bluray AND if compatibility was important why didn't he adopt Playstation compatibility license? All B0LL0X because even today 360 STILL uses noisy dirt cheap 50 Pence DVD ROM out of spite!

Ditto for S.Bulmer and P.Alan (3 founders of Microcock)

They are (all 3 of them) kunts and I hope they all die soon and horribly like final destination style for all the damage they did through their illegal monopolistic sh1t

@Digiman

Try growing up and getting a sense of proportion on what's important in life. So Windows sucked and only became dominant through underhand business moves? XBOX not to your liking? Really, so what?

He could sit on his vast personal wealth and lord it up like there was no tomorrow, instead he's become one of the biggest philanthropists alive today and is busy donating large sums of money to causes that do actually make a tangible difference to people.

“Socialism" is no more an evil word than "Christianity." Socialism no more prescribed Joseph Stalin and his secret police and shuttered churches than Christianity prescribed the Spanish Inquisition.
