Cool Re: are we still sharing crazy ebay postings?

He's back on eBay with the "Ultimate A4000T" listed for $2000!

Let us see how long the listing lasts.

DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! The account is hacked big time. ALL items under the user are $2000 and the weird thing is, it will redirect you to a site outside of EBAY that looks like ebay. I never saw that from Ebay's site yet.
It will prompt you to enter the username and password and then they have your credentials.
I had to change my password really fast before they will. I hope I was fast...

Yeah, this is really clever. They managed to get enough html code into the eBay listing to redirect you to another site that is made to look like ebay. And there is a tendency to not display the full web address in a lot of newer browers. Evil.

I know, I have seen a lot of scam before, but this is first, and if you want to report it, it gives you Buy IT Now page.

That's what happens when you let others embed their HTML code.

If you stop the page loading before it redirects, you can report it.

I did that, and I called the Ebay too about it, the page is still up and it looks like Ebay is not too concerned about it.
I wonder how many sellers are hacked at one time and they don't know about it?

I see what you mean now

Earlier when it was just listed the report section didn't redirect you .. let's hope Ebay is actually watching the person and trying to track them down this time, course the perpetrator probably hides their tracks working with proxies etc .. you wish there was a way to paralyze fingers for a year or so, first offense, both index fingers, next offense one hand etc .. yeah I am evil I guess

Very slow response time. And this is real serious fraud that threatens the integrity of their whole system. I think that an item has to be reported a number of times before it is pulled. In the hour or so it has been up, there could have been many more eBay accounts compromised. At this point, the guys doing this could be liable for some serious jail time and the FBI could be called in to investigate. There have been numerous seller accounts hacked over the last year, who knows how many have fallen for the bait--the A4000T is just one of many listings that have been copied. Interstate and international fraud.

Not really crazy, but kind of awesome - who's been hoarding all these Super Denise chips??!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-x-Amiga-S...item232906a295

Step 1: buy them all
Step 2: upgrade everyone's Amiga
Step 3: profit!

LOL. I'm always curious about the stories behind these kind of things... a long-lost box behind a file cabinet in an ex-Commodore warehouse? Any exciting story you'd care to share with us? In any case, good luck with your sale!
