"Production" is a pretty broad term for what's going on there, Dammy. It's commodity hardware and no rainbows and unicorns stories you are trying to tell changes that. Stop cramming this garbage spam down peoples throats unless you are willing to answer the questions people have asked. Quit being weird.
I'll ask the question I asked 5 times before I got banned from the C-USA forums for politely asking said questions: Seriously, there's people interested in these products - please answer the questions so people know what they are getting. What emulator, what other programs to go with said emu, etc. - not " emu software will ship sometime soon maybe, check your mailbox!!11" on hardware not even out the door yet. Does an OS disc come with it, or just a pre-install? If a disk comes with it, does said disc automatically install the emu software and roms/etc in event of a user needing to reinstall the whole deal? Or do they just have an Ubuntu install and have to install/cfg the emu seperately? Support - I understand there's 24/7 support, what about warranty, return policy, etc. Answer the questions, please - or can the fanboy "BIG NEWS - BARRY JUST SNEEZED, IT IS A DIVINE MIRACLE!" nonsense. |

Oh, congratulations, you're rebadging moderately okay PCs with Commodore stickers. What an accomplishment.
I can see why the "co-branding" agreement went through - CUSA's methodology fits right in with modern Disney's "churn out the exact same ******* things over and over but put different names on it" approach!

Spammy should be charged "advertising rates" by the owners here...
![]() I know it's in the "Alternative Operating Systems" but who apart from Spammy gives a flying f*ck about this sh!te... ![]() Spammy should be made to refund everyone here who has paid for a membership their money back or issue us all with a CUSA T-Shirt that we can wipe our arses with it or burn it (preferably both)...

That's another thing that confused me from Leo's post today about the C64x: "I'm not sure if we do a pre-install of Ubuntu at this stage, I'll have to check, but I think it is likely. (Edit: You have to install it)" source Correct me if I'm wrong, but the basic model of C64x does not indicate a CD or DVD either. (obviously barebones model does not either) #6 |

Well, presumably if it doesn't come with an OS preinstalled and it doesn't come with a CD/DVD drive, you could just install from a USB stick, but that seems slipshod even for CUSA - I think it's entirely possible that Leo just doesn't have any idea what he's talking about.
(Says a lot that that's one of the better possible explanations for the behavior of this company...)

True, but that's not stated, which I would expect. My comment (and Mongo's I believe) stem from reading other people referring to "disk". The greater question regardless is "why add another step"? It's admittedly an item the company feels has retro appeal. That buyer wants to open up the box and use it, not install an operating system. As little cost as it is in time..that also requires a set of directions and testing to make sure the average customer with no knowledge of linux can do it, no? #6 |

You'd think. Then again, I'm sure Dammy will offer some reasoning by which this is cheaper and easier than having it just come preinstalled...

Why is it exactly that people complain when someone posts about CommodoreUSA in one thread, saying it's off topic, yet feel free to crap all over these threads?
You don't like the product, everyone gets it. Find a life please. |
