The old scandoublers are almost no good for LCD monitors, at some rare exceptions.
You need the Indivision AGA for A4000D and CD32.

Same thing happens for me. On a CRT it shows great. On an LCD, you do get some lines showing. Its not bad at all, but it is noticeable

LCD monitors are much more susceptible to interference on the cabling, through mains plugs etc. Slowly moving horizontal stripes are usually due to grounding issues (exactly the same as with buzzing audio equipment). You can try eliminating / reducing them by
- connecting the devices to the same mains socket / extension lead
- connecting the (metal) cases with a somewhat substantial, additional grounding wire
- turning the mains plugs upside down (if possible): unplug everything but the two devices having the problem (no external CD drive, amp, ...) and try all four variations of plug orientation - there should be one combination with minimal interference

Either directly to your Hi Fi unit/amp or buying a set of decent Speakers with a built in amp... :)

I prefer my own way though and that was building my own amp to sit inside my A1200's tower case with Volume, Bass, Treble and mixer controls on the front to mix between the Amiga's audio and the internal CD/DVD drives with speaker outputs on the back... :)

I have an Indivision A1200 and gives my some ghosting on my Samsung Synchmaster 941 MW. A few monts ago I bought a secondhand AverMedia TVBox W9 and I got a screen without ghosting and crisper.

This might be an alternative solution to connect older scandoublers to your LCD monitor or TV.

Yeah i have both the Indivision 1200 and the Indivision 4000.
On the same LCD screen, with the same external switch and same type of cable, the display is far better on the 4000 than the 1200.
I think this is related to the ground connection missing on the 1200 version and present on the 4000 version.
I hope that this issue will be fixed on the expected Indi MK2, as i will certainly buy one for my other 1200.

What sort of cables are needed to connect the miggy to the TVBox W9?

Hi,

@Amiga4000Freak,

I have a Picasso II in my A4000, and a GVP IV 24 card, the GVP IV 24 card feeds into the Picasso II card, and the Picasso II feeds my monitor. It works perfectly on any monitor I put on it. Now I use my audio outputs on my A4000 to feed to JBL pro self powered computer speakers, if you can find them they seem to do excellent, sometimes when I really want to rock my computer room, I hook them up to my Koss M100/plus self powered speakers, just replaced the speakers in these with some pioneer speakers, these things will shake the room and the sound off the A4000 is awesome. Back in the old days, I used to use my Sony 250 watt per channel amp, with some Sony monitor speakers to really rock the town (and I mean rock the town, the Sony speakers have a warning on them that at 1 watt of power the speaker will put out 110 db of sound).

Anyhow I just use the A4000 stereo output connectors in the back by the 23 pin video output plug.

Hi,

@Amiga4000Freak,

Are you VGA plugs properly grounded?

Are your power plugs connected in a grounded side plug, if you are using an old extension cord, you have the option of plugging in the monitor plugs any way that you want, make sure all your plugs are polarized.
If in the USA.

I used a CompServ Arxxon scandoubler successfully with various TFT monitors.

Check out your monitor controls, modify the clock and sync and you'll get rid of the vertical lines.

PS: If your monitor doesn't show anything put your A4000 jumper in NTSC mode and it will work

edit: um! of course, if you have interference in the screen you should check your miggy shielding and also use a proper vga cable (although most monitor cables included by the manofacturer are usually OK)
