Default Monitor Settings Needed

I currently setting up my CV64/3D (DCE Version) using Picasso96 software. I've got so far with it but can't go much futher.
My system is :-

A1200 / Apollo 60 / Zorro bus board / OS3.5

Ok so I've installed the software and started playing with the settings, I'm able to get a test display come up but when I move the mouse around the display either crashes or just goes all over the place. I've checked out the monitor spec and I think I have a configuration problem. Could someone help with the configuration, monitor details :-

Dot Pitch 0.25mm/0.27mm
Recommend Resolution 1024*768,85Hz
Maximum Resolution 1600*1200
Horizontal Frequency 30-86KHz
Vertical Frequency 50-160Hz
Dot Rate 145MHz(typical)

Max. Refresh Rate
1600*1200 60Hz
1280*1024 75Hz
1024*768 95Hz
800*600 120Hz
640*480 150Hz

Can someone tell me what I need change on my set-up to get things working.

Cheers

You really shouldn't have any problems if you start out with standard VESA modes and go from there. Start with 640x480, 60Hz, 31kHz and 8-bit.

Also, have you tried it with the latest version of CGFX? After all your card and CGFX were originally made for each other.

Edit:
It could also be a hardware problem. Check so that you have all possible optimizations turned off for your card (IE gpu overclocking etc.)
Oh, also try turning off any patches such as FastBlit, MCP and so on that does stuff to speed up the custom chips.

I've tried those settings and don't get anything better. I've tried CGFX version 3, when the monitor driver is loaded it just halts the Amiga which is very odd.

I'm also running a clean installation of OS3.5 no patches or software installed.

Hi maximo,

another guy with CV643D problem!!

So, have you removed (Uninstall) P96 before install CGX3?

P96 has an uninstaller as well.

As suggested at other guys, remove again all the CGX3 (ancient) related driver/libs and install again P96.

During the installation, the installer ask you the max freq H-V supported by your monitor.

Choose: 80 Hz for VERTICAL

80 Khz for HORIZZONTAL

Even if your monitor can accept higher freq., remember that your GFX board has only 4 MB of VRAM.

Ciao

Hi Framiga,

It's a clean install of Picasso96. I think I've tried that mode but I'll try again and see what I get.

Cheers

Problem sorted out. I found the VESA settings for the modes. I now have a fully working CV64/3D using Picasso96.

@maximo

Great! Now just sit back and enjoy native chunky graphics on your Amiga, IE download and start playing Doom :-)
