I am looking to obtain 2 working original C64 brick power supplies. I am willing to do a direct trade for NEW Amiga 500(600/1200) power supplies. I have new US/EU/UK and without connector.

What's the part number on those. I can check and see if I have some (I think I do, I just am not sure which ones are C64 and which ones are C128). If they're the same as CD32 bricks I know I have some of those left for sure.

I don't have have part number handy, but the original C64 brick power supplies were fairly unique looking. They are small heavy black bricks with a round DIN power connector.
C128 power supplies are different, they look alot like A500 power supplies and have square power connector like A500 PSs, but are heavier and have no power switch.

@redrumloa
I had to, my VIC has the 2-prong plug rather than the DIN-plug common on the VIC's.

I have some CD32 power supplies here. They all say C54 on them, they're black, the have the round connector and they're for north america / japan. If those are the same animal I have 2 for ya.

Btw, I also have 6 to 10 A600 power supplies which are all new. You interested in them as well?

@jagabot
I'll have to check about those CD32 PS, I doubt the pinout is the same. About the A600 power supplies, I'll have to pass at the moment. I have countless A500 power supplies which are compatible and are selling sloooooow. :-(

The CD32 PSU outputs +5V and +12V DC, where the C-64 expects +5V DC and 9V AC. Also the pin configuration is different.. The C-64's PSU connector is a DIN with 4 pins, but it's actually a 7 pin DIN with five pins left out. Thus a normal 4pin DIN won't fit in the C-64.. (thankfully) :-) The CD32's PSU might work with the 1541-II and 1581, but I wouldn't vouch for that before checking them side by side with a multimeter. |
