Dear Friends:

What are the best adventure game creators (for amiga) ? and are they any good ?
I am tired of coding the whole adventure in amos, and looking to try

Although not specifically an adventure game creator, I suggest you take a look at Hollywood & Hollywood Designer for your programming.

Both programs are actively supported and upgraded (just purchased the latest versions within the last 3 to 4 weeks ago) which is rare these days and you should seriously consider supporting active developers by purchasing products that are actively supported and upgraded. Also, it runs on multiple platforms and can be compiled to run on multiple platforms so that you can write code once and compile executable files for AmigaOS3.x, AmigaOS4.x, MorphOS2.x, Windows, MacOSX, and I think AROS and maybe Linux too (I am sure about the first 5 OSes).

It is also supported by popular development environments such as Cubic IDE. It can be used for things as simple as a slide presentation to full fledged games or other applications.

It is not a difficult programming language to learn, so moving from AMOS to Hollywood should not be too daunting of a task.

Most Amiga adv creators I know of are aimed either at pure text or pure graphic adventures, I think there's nothing specially suited for the kind of thing you originally did with your Wizard Of The Orb, which was text but highly RPG oriented.

Most famous Amiga tool for graphics advs is GRAC. I haven't played with GRAAL but It could be worth a try.

In the pure text field I recently took a look at:

Amiga Dungeon Mastering System - Shareware
Create Adventure Games - Shareware
Visionary - Comercial. I got a copy at ebay some time ago just to have the manual, and it looked promising, but I hadn't the time to got into it at some deep.
Hatrack - Comercial, and rather rare to find

There is an adf running at warez sites of something called "Fantasy Roleplayng Adventure Creator" (FRAC) from Bit Software. It's also oriented to text adventures, but can't find any link with more info right now.

Adventure Construction Set from Electronic Arts seemed fun for some mixed thing between pure adv and RPG.

And I would like to know more about a tool called "Dreamweaver" which was distributed and used long ago to make menu driven text adventures like this "I Rescued ELVIS From Communist Alien Jerks" (Yeeeaaahh!! XDD ) but no one ever could tell me more about it than what was told in the game credits.

Any more tools out there? I'm also iterested to know about them! :-)
