Default FA: Final Writer - rare version

I am selling my copy of Softwood Inc.'s Final Writer for Windows 95. It may work with Windows 98, but nothing newer.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Final-Writer-for...d=p3286.c0.m14

This is an excellent word processor, and very easy to use (good thing - I've lost the manual) Starting price is cheap...

Hmm, I've got a copy of that somewhere. Made it easy to move documents between the Miggy and a pc. Must sort out what else I have in the loft

It is a good program.
Do you (or any one?) remember if this software sold retail, or was it just offered to Final Writer Amiga users by Softwood.

I don't think it ever was offered on its own. I own a copy of the Windows version and, from what I remember, it came it came with FinalWriter 97 when I bought it. It was actually quite a nice program. It has the same GUI layout as the Amiga version and most of the functionality. Of course, it had no AREXX support and I don't think it supported FinalWriter's unique textbox functionality but it actually had better font support. Also, you could choose to save you docs as either an "Amiga" FinalWriter file or a "Windows" FinalWriter file. I'm not sure the rational behind this as FinalWriter97 couldn't open the "Windows" FinalWriter file.

Before laptops were fast enough to run WinUAE, Windows FinalWriter was a great way to work on your Amiga docs on the go.
