The next release of VmwAROS will include a new feature called AmiBridge, a powerful scripting tool which will allow running AmigaOS applications straight from AROS, using E-UAE.
On the VmwAROS website there is a video which explains how AmiBridge works. Users will have to provide a legal Amiga ROM image and install their old AmigaOS files and applications in the right directories (they won't be included in VmwAROS). Users of Amiga Forever will be even happier, since AmiBridge supports Cloanto's environment and applications directly. Once files are properly installed, adding launch scripts to AROS and running applications is matter of a few mouse clicks. |

Is the clipboard shared?
Can you multiselect files and start them so that the 68k application gets them as wbstartup args? Can you start 68k applications from shell and pass arguments to them? Can you drag icons to the 68k applications? Do the 68k application appicons appear on the host desktop? Can you share data between separate 68k applications? Can you access the host filesystem transparently from within the 68k applications? Can the 68k applications communicate via ARexx? Does it support programs that run in multiple windows, with freedom to drag and resize the windows on the host desktop? Can 68k apps open to specific host pubscreen, and can they jump between ones? Can you run MUI 68k apps? Can you run networking 68k apps? |

Is this going to get me laid?
Can it solve world hunger? Can it cure Aids? Will it eject 68 dollar notes from the host disc drive? Can it run Windows XP? Can one ask so many rhetorical questions without being considered a fool? Can i think of any more (valid) but useless questions? |

Right. So no 68k app support then, after all.
What happened to the 68k emulation integration project? |

Did you read what this was? Some scripts to start UAE for you automatically.
Just like the program for WinUAE that will launch Firefox or Internet Explorer for you from an Amiga Icon. It doesn't make AmigaOS3.9 fully intigrate Windows Vista. Chill out. :-) |

Ok, I have understood the meaning of these questions, however the answer is yes only to "Can you access the host filesystem transparently from within the 68k applications?" and "Can the 68k applications communicate via ARexx?" (but within them), for the rest, you have to wait a smarter version of E-UAE.
AmiBridge is meant to allow people use 68K apps to do tasks that AROS doesn't allow to, for the moment, because there isn't yet a proper application. If you want to keep using your 1989 software the way you used it in 1989, just use your 1989 computer. |

I guess that Piru questions are motivated because E-UAE for MorphOS already includes these scripts and OS4 has GLUAE... so it's not so "new" as it has been done before already twice. BTW, WinUAE has shared clipboard. |

MorphOS and OS4 have this already? Great! But so what? This is about AROS!
It may be a small step but its a positive step none the less. |

Well done sir. It is a great addition to AROS. It is at least a start towards real 68k native support. |
