Awesome. It's nice to see regular progress made available. Cheers to the development team.
Unfortunately, my system is still extremely crash-happy. I understand it's beta software, so some instability is to be expected, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having trouble? I just hope my board isn't damaged... |

If you are experiencing random crashes, it is most likely an incorrect voltage setting or heat related.
OS 4 is quite stable in the meanwhile. |

Linux is stable, however. Well, I'm sending the board in for the ethernet/DMA patch in a short while anyway, I'll have them check everything else. |

Stability issues are almost exclusively caused by wrong voltage settings. Refer to this article by Stépane Guillard that sums it up pretty nicely. |

I am a little confused - has Amiga OS4 been released?
Does it work on BlizzardPPC 1200's? Finally - I was wondering - I think a long while back that I paid for some kind of coupon through Amiga Inc. towards OS4. Are those still valid? |

@ Rogue
Some quick research shows that my VCORE is one setting too low (XPC7451RX800RE should be 1.64, mine is at 1.59). However, in the example in the linked article, the VCORE is intentionally set lower than suggested due to heat issues. Would such a small discrepancy cause such problems as I have? Well, I'll have my dealer give everything a checkup when I send it in. I'll try to get a better cooler installed too - the only thing I've done to improve the system was to replace the thermal pad with thermal compound. Cheers, and thanks for the help. |

Yes all Vcore's was set lower due to heat problems but you can get a better cooler indeed , well you should and at the same time get the vcore adjusted to the correct number. It caused alot of problems here indeed with the voltage you use atm. anyway dont attempt to do this on your own, make your dealer fix it incase of something goes wrong. Best of luck on that and btw i have no problems here of staying up and running tons of {bleep} for days and days ....weeks is hard for me as i need to update my os regulary :-) cheers |

No stability problems here (touch wood) either.
When I ordered my A1 G4-XE ( from Eyetech) I also ordered a better heatsink to go with it. Its still tiny in comparison to pc heatsinks but apparently larger than then "standard" issue. |

We encountered may stability issues with incorrectly set VCORE in the past, so I would suggest to raise the VCORE to the correct value, but make absolutely sure that you have adequate cooling... Edit: Also, make sure that you clock it at 800 MHz. It's a genuine 800 MHz CPU, but I've heard of a lot of people that clocked theirs at 933 MHz ... |

I would also like to know if you have a Catweasel in your system. If you do, remove it and see if it gets better. |
