Amiga Makes Wired's 2002 Vapor List
« on: January 02, 2003, 06:38:21 PM »
The "new" Amiga has ranked #9 on Wired's recent Vaporware 2002  list. It's a little discouraging to see the new system put in bad light, but at the same time, I find it invigorating to see that some of the mainstream media are anticipating it at any level.

I'm a bit disappointed, actually. I really thought we could have reached a better rank ;-)

If you look back at previous years Top 10 you'll see most of the stuff is now actually available.

The good thing is that it almost proves we'll get OS4 during this year and that Wired is a news site that would do anything to get "hits" on their page.

Any publicity is good publicity, as they say. At least people still know what an Amiga is, which is more than can be said for it's "spinoff" competitors... ;-)

I think it bodes well indeed. To make a top 10 list of "most anticipated" things in a mainstream mag lke that? :-)

Although most people probably know by now Mac gaming is kicking @$$ these days, back then one of the reasons I was twitchy about standing out from the crowd by not buying a mainstream Pea Sea was the lack of games available.

Sad but true. :-D
