I would like to point out that the CD ROM version does contain quite a few apps and games, and as soon as I get it updated you can try it... As I said I'm really trying to think of a way to get better gfx support before the next CD ISO...

Something beyond 16 colors would be nice yes
Especially to run a few of the contributed demo effects. You can in linux hosted mode, but that soaks up quite a bit of performance. Just try to change some of the zune background settings and the wanderer will get some serious amounts of sirup in it./Björn |

I guess VESA2 (or maybe 3?) is the way to go in terms of GFX, that way we can get large colour depths and large screen resolutions and still support most (if not all) machines out there... but sadly that will not provide much in the way of gfx acceleration, IIRC..

It would make sence to however, port the DE to AROS! - Not that Amiga Inc would ever do that. But AROS to the DE? I cant see anyone porting a kernel and an operating system to run on top of a virtual one!!! |

This is where things should be going, x86 is the only viable way to appeal to the masses. PPC is dead (even though I have a new Mac Quicksilver), or will be soon. Apple will be dumping PPC soon. Evidence? Apple is maintaining a x86 port of Mac OS X. Amiga Inc is simply trying to screw us for money. With all these crap upgrades. I mean upgrade to a new G3 processor. No thank you.
Don't jump onto a broken bandwagon, Open Source is the future. Its something you can't stop. It will grow and grow... Support AROS, like BeOS users are supporting OpenBEOS. |
