Default Imagine ACUP Information from Martin McKenzie

About a week ago I went searching for an update to the status of the Imagine's ACUP (Amiga Constant Upgrade), as I had not seen any progress on the ACUP site for quite some time.

Martin McKenzie - currently in charge of finishing this project has assured us that this is still an ongoing project.

He has asked that the details of his post to the IML are not distributed to other websites, stating it is for IML subscribers only. Therefore if you are interested in what he has to say you can join the IML here. It's free and you can opt for a single email delivered monthly that contains only the info you are interested in.

I would say if you are at all interested in this software that it makes for some good reading.

Incidentally I will now blatently plug CadTech and Imagine - considering this is probably the only 3D Animation package that is still being actively developed, and the latest version IS PPC COMPATIBLE NOW!

Also you should consider not only the incredibly low price of Imagine v5 but also how incredibly good value for money the v6 ACUP is (v5.17 is the PPC compatible version - together with a PPC Standalone Rendering Engine).

So there is no excuse for this software not to be at the top of all Amiga 3D Animator's shopping lists.

Actually, this re-clarifies it for those who didn't know about Martins involvement in the OS4 project. It makes sense for him to suspend the ACUP until there is a new OS for him to utilize. Them he'll be able to take advantage of the extra PPC speed without 'kludges' (his wording).
This will be one of my first purchases when the A1+OS4 ships. Of course, if there's a PPC native IFX5.0, then that will take preference..........

 I've already purchased it about five or six years ago, shortly after version 5 was released. I'll be happy to see it, finally.
