I vote *NO PORTING TO THE AMIGA* I do *NOT* want games that I can already play on my PC.

* I want the Amiga to return to being the fricking revolutionary platform it used to be.

* I want the Amiga to LEAD THE WAY, not pick over the dead carcass of long-forgotten games.

* I want ALL games/software written for Amiga DE so it can run on any damned platform that *I* choose. Isn't this what it's all about?

Why is this so hard to understand? Sounds like it's time for a new SegWayne(tm) editorial.

Entire games take years to develop to the quality of games we now see on the PC. This is impossible at the moment in the AMIGA Market, no company has the time to resources to devote to creating an entirely new game for such a small community. Those that do simply don't usually create games up to the standards of the PC, its a lack of resources, time and money.

Our best hope is to port some of the better PC games, which can be done pretty easily thanks to the wonderful world of C and C++, then if our community expands we could demand our own exclusive games. However you must remember than if you look around you'll see few platform unique games, hell even game console and PC games are crossing over. There are few MAC games that arn't available for the PC (commerical titles).

So in short - don't be stupid. Now use your senses and go and vote for Unreal2 you fool.

In a way I agree. Maybe its the constant jabbling
from people screaming for features/games/apps
on other platforms all the time. I say : get that platform than and dont be so narrow-minded
that everything have to be duplicated to the amiga
before its acceptable.

For an OS4 game, I want a driving game... not a sim type driving game like f1gp but more along the lines of Need4Speed3 a la arcade style. That's something I have yet to see on the Amiga and one thing I would just love to play. Another good game I'd like to see is something like AfterBurner, arcade style air combat FPS style. I'm not much into the full blown sims where you have to modify your camber and airwings and check for your tire heat levels or all that junk... I just want to race... and race... and race... and race... you get the picture.

Wait. don't we have some PPC games? I keep hearing Shogo and PPC mentioned, so I assume that must be an Amiga PPC game. If we do, what are they? screenshots?

Check out the features of Shogo on their web site while you are at it. Shogo was just released for preorder at the same time my A4K gave up the ghost, otherwise I'd be playing it right about now.

Personally??? you need both New Amiga only games and ports its that simple!

Unique games so that peopel go wow thats good and I cant get it anywhere else.. and ports so that you dont have to have more than 1 computer to play all the games you want and already like!

I brought a PC for the SOLE purpose to play CM2/3 (I brought Cm 97/98 on the amiga and omg did it suck cheesy boils, it would crash after 2 seasons!) and when I saw a mate playing Half-Life I just had to have it!

Im a game freak sometimes i only like 1 game on a console (like Die Hard Arcade on the Sega, or Halo on the Xbox) but if that console/computer had lots of games I like already and like the look off im going to buy it!

Closing off the Amiga from game ports will only send it down the path the Xbox is currently facing.. thats a good example, amazing machine. amazing hardware, 1 or 2 amazing games but not enough to stop people from buying the Playstation.
IF M$ cant get more than 20 or so games out on release where does that leave a smaller company??

Games and apps make a machine, and so does choice! people wont take the Amiga seriously if you dont have the Adobe range of programs for example or Quark, but that still doesnt mean you cant have Amiga specific apps as well!

Persoanlly, I'd throw my vote for the WarCraft series. I can't wait to get the super-mega-deluxe-ultra-shoot-a-stiffy version of WarCraft III when it comes out. That's gonna ROCK!

You and I think alot differently!

AmigaAnywhere games running on DE-Player for Windows on a Wintel box is not an Amiga. AA games on a cell phone is not an Amiga.

You have made decent points for the potenial of AA, but AA is not a platform and I doubt you will ever see games the calibre of Rune or Doom3 on AA.
