Currently the logo is jpeg, I think it should be png with alphachannels to blend in ontop of whatever the style sheet one decide to use - what do you think? Maybe there are plans for this already? :-)

Come on! That was originally done as a joke but many people thought it was quite creative.

It's for retro effect and really neat IMHO. :D

I think the topaz is great.

The only thing that would make it better, IMO, is if it were in the double height aspect ratio you used to get on non-interlaced screens, preferably with a bit of faux scanline effect for added authenticity.

Although the more I look at it, the more I wonder if it already is in that aspect ratio already  I can't remember!

That's pretty much what I had in mind.

I wonder how the ribena-coloured KS 2.0 bootscreen background would look with that?

Thats a bit more work to test of one don't have Wayne's original picture. And some colour change to the site template. Don't know if the blue gradient is drawn from this picture or if there will be edges that don't follow the same gradient curve.

But the ribena will probably look very good.

That's nice :)

Assuming the original image assets are all available, that colour but with the overall visual effect (dropshadows etc) of the previous one would be perfect IMO :)

Of course, easy for me to say, I'm not the one doing it...

This thread didnt exactly go the way I intended... :-)

What would it take to provide a logo that doesnt have any gradient background colour? Also one can easily split the logo from the so called topaz (is that really topaz?). Seriously, what's in the background should be left for the stylesheet to decide, we're in 2009 now ;-)

Here's the background image.

I understand you want the text and logo symbol to have a transparent background so this image can be whatever colour the theme dictates.

Entirely possible but I guess cosmetic changes are at the bottom of the list of things to do.

I'm sure Wayne has a few more important issues to sort out first.

I guess my question would have to be, as the owner of the copyright, why do you want to "split the logo"?

What nefarious purposes hast thou?
