Default faulty composite jack on A1200

I am presently running my A1200 via composite out on a TV. But I have to physically force the composite plug up or down when its in the jack in order to get a picture. If I just plug it in I get no picture. Any ideas why this might be and how to fix it?

Very strange, is it loose then? The composite plug should be tight with no room for movement?

I wouldn't be trying to force it 'up and down' that will just make it worse and might even kill your 1200.

Maybe you could use a different output (eg RGB -> VGA/RGB -> SCART or just get an IndivisionAGA!), composite is horrible.

The plug fits tight in the socket (jack), but I have to physically push the jack up or down by 2-3mm, as if its not making proper contact with the motherboard in order to get the picture. My son uses the A1200 as a games console, so it sits in front of a CRT TV with no other inputs except composite.

It sounds like it has come loose inside then so still not a good idea to move it (which will just make it worse).

You can either get it repaired or replace the TV with on that at least supports a SCART input.

Crack open the Amiga and redo the solders on the RF modulator. Also open the tin of it and tight a little the "live" RCA connector pin, redoing the solder of it too.

Thank you. I'll get a friend who is more competent than me with a soldering iron.
