AmyIRC is a 50k cli AmigaOS irc client.. does anyone have it? I've googled and yahooed and searched aminet, but havent found it yet.

I want to use IRC on possibly a 7mhz A600, and I quite liked this client back in the day. Ran very well, though lacked in features, but I didnt mind. Complemented ALynx quite nicely.

Never heard of it. 50k IRC client?! wow IRC II is 1megabyte!! :-P

I used on my A600 grapevine (IRC with GUI):-)

Strange you cannot find it on AmiNet!

it didnt even support /ping or dcc .. it was a work in progress I think, but never got out of beta. still it worked perfectly for me when I used it in 1998. I just hope someone still has it.

once was co-author of AmyIrc (the AmigaOS console window irc client, not AmIRC the graphical client). The project never got out of beta and is very dead now, but the client has still users.

UPDATE......

I talked to the coauthor of AmyIRC, and he no longer has a copy, and does not know where I can find it. He thought it was on aminet, but I've looked, and searched, and its not there.

All is not lost though.. During my manual aminet search, I found this:

It's CLI based and small as well! But it has auto greets which you cant turn off. :/ And they're in german. :/ Thats a good combination to piss a lot of people off. hehe. I've emailed the author and asked him for an english version, and an option to disagree autogreets. Hopefully he'll be able to implement my requests..
