Default A1200 mobo - Now What????

I just picked up an A1200 motherboard, rev. 1D1 along with an IDE adapter/splitter, PCKey adapter, PC power supply to Amiga adapter and nothing else.

I'm looking for a source for a case and a floppy drive.

Can anyone here help me out? I'd probably prefer an original 1200 case as I really don't plan to do any HUGE expansion.

Perchance would someone who has towerized their 1200 be willing to part with the old case?

Also, what sort or expansion would fit in the trap door? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I'm in Amarillo, TX so that'll probably make a difference.

Thanks,

Curtis

p.s. Don't bother suggestion ebay. I cruise there every day!

Is there any reason you're trying to build an original spec A1200? Would it not be an idea to just buy the unit made up?

http://www.amigakit.us have floppy drives and I think they have cases too, and they offer a "built-to-order" A1200 service. They're in the UK but ship to the States.

As I've looked into it AFTER I bought the motherboard, I may end up buying another unit and keeping this motherboard as a spare.

What can I say? It seemed like a good idea at the time!

You are more than half way to a basic tower with those parts you've already got.

I'm assuming it's a 4-way IDE interface? Think about all the goodies you could have in a tower...ZIP drive, CD/DVD drive, LS-120, the list goes on!

eBay seller airey36 sells them pretty cheaply and usually has a couple listed, shipping is a little high as it's from the UK but maybe he has a couple of other items you need to make the order worthwhile.

I think you should string it to the ceiling and let it dangle for super cooling.

@curtis

If you ever wanna sell that mobo, I would be interested. I have a mobo like that with problems and I need a replacement.

Cheers,

Dragster
