Default Indivision Issues RESOLVED

FINALLY got a hold of an Indivision and am having some distortion waves and periods of video loss. The main thing I have been reading is the possibility of it not fitting properly on certain models of Lisa chips. Mine seems to fit, but its really not all that snug. Not NEARLY as snug as my IDEExpress adapter on my Gayle.

I can just tap the bottom of the Indivision and it will pop off. Should it be a snug as the IDEExpress adapter is, where you have to use quite a bit of force to pry it off? Also, I have read that the sanding approach seems to work as well. Any ideas or anyone with similar problems?

Thanks all!

Did you have the problems like I did with video going out and distortion or was it just a fit problem?

I've heard that the Indivision fits fine on Commodore A1200s but the later Amiga Technologies and some of the Hewlett-Packard vintage AGA chips don't fit nearly as well.

Also, there has been a firmware update that may address some of your problems.

Yeah, I applied the firmware. Didn't help or change the video problems.

Make sure the video cable is grounded to the amiga (RF shielding works for this), that solved the interference problem for me. Also - I haven't had issues with my HP Lisa, though you might have to re-seat it a time or two before everything is perfect.

Is your Lisa a CBM or HP Lisa?

you may have to file down the socket in order for it to fit correctly.

some glue may also help to hold it in place.

There were two issues really. The distortion and unstable picture was just as D said. Grounded it better and picture is crisp and no video loss.

The looseness of the board was fixed by slightly pulling the socket pins out, and I mean slightly. Once I did that it had a nice firm grip. I also lightly brushed the pins Lisa and the Indivision socket with a metal brush.

Everything works perfect now. Thanks for the help guys!

Cool, glad it worked out for you...the're great aren't they

Just a note to anyone else, you don't need to apply the 'sanding mod' if you have a CBM Lisa.
