Make a hidden drawer / directory in Workbench?
« on: January 20, 2009, 09:11:40 PM »
IDE to CF card arrived today. 2GB card inserted and partitioned.

I love how a clean install of Workbench 3.0 involves copying the contents of a 880k disk or two...

Seems strange having an A1200 making no noise bar the click click click of the disk driving checking for a disk.

I've copied over the Fonts and Locales disks to corresponding directories (I think they're called drawers in Workbench) which I created manually.

However these folders are visible, how do I make them hidden like other system directories such a C and Libs?

Open up a shell. Type:

delete sys:fonts.info
delete sys:locale.info

Close and re-open (or update) the window.

Far better to install properly from the install disk though as it puts everything where it should be.

Delete the .info file for each drawer you wish to become 'invisible'

I don't have the install disk in my set sadly, it was a vanilla A1200 when I got it for Christmas many years ago.

The icons (original install) are drawers, which open up when you click on them.
