It's bad news for anyone to loose their job but when a company has so many products losing money it's expected.

You would think by now that MS might realize that they should stay focused on the area where they actually make money: software -- OS and business/productivity.  They should trash virtually all their money-losing divisions.  Why haven't they?  -Dave

P.S.  What word is misspelled more than any other word?  Lose.
'Loose' refers to other things, such as an ex-GF from years ago.

This is not bad news for Microsoft; it's bad news for Microsoft employees. These actions will make Microsoft save money so they can be more competitive. So it may even be bad news for (some) competitors.

It’s likely to be a non-laudable loss if the layoffs break loose and the losses lose their lucrative jobs loosely.

IMO..  What do you think Bill.....?

Bill...  Will you come to the party and rescue your workers??

Well Bill....?

Hes doesn't say much does he......

Wipe that smurk off your face Bill!! Its far from funny..

I hope the worse for M$. I hope they go hell, damnit. I hope we can take off from this dark windows era, so hardware developers provide good drivers for alternative, light and usable OSes: for example, I am fed up with fighting for proper video refresh/sync control in Linux APIs, just because only Nvidia provides decent drivers for that platform.
Windows, windows....I hate that {bleep}! Slow, bloated, yet dominant {bleep}! I feel whole humankind is stupid for letting it become a dominant os!

I have no word to describe how much I hate Micro$ft. Every bad new for them, is good for me. I hope to see M$ falling.

Down with Mikey I say! Never good when people lose their jobs, but we *are* talking about Micro$oft here in a Miggy newsgroup   ;-)

Fanatical food for thought trapped in a fantasy world:

What if Micro$loth, in their finite wisdom and in a last ditch attempt to salvage their {bleep}e WinBlows OS, bought the rights to the Amiga OS, re-worked it to perform on Intel and branded it Windows 8? lol

My opinion is that only the threat of anti-monopoly laws have prevented Microsoft from buying the rights to AmigaOs ,along with MacOS,,Solaris, and stopping the sales, support ,and development of all non-M$ programs.
IT's not as if Bill Gates didn't have the money.
