I do quite well without all the items on that list except OpenOffice, and I don't recall that "moving" to the PC...

How about adding DeliPlayer? The only way to play stuff like the Speedball 2 (Amiga version) theme on PC, unless using an emulator.

TvPaint now lives as Aura DV Paint, well at least some of the interface/ gui/ tools are exactly the same. Both programs are exellent IMO. :-)

Hey now I said if you own a PC you shouldn't be without one of these. You already have one for your Amiga so you are set..

As far as IRC clones my favorite is still MIRC, but I use a messenger called Trillian that incorporates, Yahoo!, MSN messenger, AIM, IRC all into one program (not into multiple IM clients) and it's IRC program is pretty decent too, I use it routinely to visit #AROS.

I put open office on the list because it's a killer app that basically open sources an office suite and well honestly it's better than it's Amiga equivalent "Gold Disk Office" and honestly gives Microsoft a lot to think about..

I wish someone would port Open Office to Amiga Classic, AmigaOne, MorphOS, and Aros.. That would give the platform a really top notch and free productivity suite that's popular with Linux and Windows users alike. Mostly because it's free and it's on par and file compatible with M$-Office..

@Stew
The new Toaster2 may be expensive but they are working on making it usable in a A4000 with Mediator, although the pc software will be unusable
the hardware will still work and once they get some amiga software written for it I'm sure you'd be able to also run it on AmigaOne or any other Amiga like platform given you meet the right specs. ;-)

VideoToaster2 for PAL sucks.

Ther are NLE systems cheaper, more relialable and with better quality around.

Although these programs didn't start out on the Amiga the file type's did and I find them very useful when going back and forth between Amiga and the pc.The first is called WinAce Archiver it handles LHA archives on the pc and the second that I'm sure a lot of Amiga users are aware of is PaintShopPro7, it handles IFF amiga format pics. I find these programs very useful and use them alot. Does anybody know of other Amiga file type programs for the pc ? :-)

Frankly OpenOffice is the only one off that list I have any use for, and it's got nothing at all to do with the Amiga (It used to be Star Office before the open source and closed source forks diverged). None of the Amiga "Office" applications were ever above mediocre at best.

The only titles I use regularly that have an Amiga heritage in the sense that they were inspired by Amiga apps are:

Magellan Explorer http://www.enriva.com/ (DOpus4 clone)

X-Chat http://www.xchat.org/ (AmIRC clone)

Beyond that, I can't think of anything else.

Now that I've mostly switched to Linux, Magellan Explorer is replaced by Worker http://www.boomerangsworld.de/worker/ as the DOpus4 clone. It's not the prettiest or best configured Linux file manager by default, but it's highly configurable and very familiar.
:-P
