I am the seller.. sold a A4kT mobo (AO member), it was bad, refunded the money, trusted that I'd get my 4 boards back. Recieved one board (the ports board of all the {bleep}ty boards to get back).
I'd normally only refund when I'd got the bits back and made sure they were buggered.

I hope it was not Doomy or one of his many alias's. I hate to say it because of him I will not deal with any one from Oregon. I have seen him use over ten different names so in a small community like ours I just have to protect myself.

If you ever do catch up to Doomy he says some one must have stole my account ( even though every thing went to his house).

Hope all works out good luck :-?

Great - so I go on vacation, and get back to civilization, and I'm the jerk because I had no internet access while away? Nice.

So I shipped the boards today, priority mail because it was $3 more than parcel post. I have a tracking number for you:

However, I forgot to put the ports board in the box! Doh! I'll send it separately in a flat-rate priority mail box tomorrow, and get the tracking number for it to you.
---

That's from PM between me and Alex; anyone who can read can clearly see from it that I had not yet shipped the ports board, so OBVIOUSLY it can NOT be the tracking number for the ports board, which Alex says is the only piece he received. Now, any one of you who likes can go on usps.com and see that they say this:

Label/Receipt Number: 0307 0020 0001 7956 9180
Status: Delivered

Your item was delivered at 12:34 PM on July 30, 2008 in SAN ANTONIO, TX 78233

So as far as I can tell, the package with the motherboard DID get there, almost a month ago! I'm pretty ticked off at this point. I made a good faith purchase of these boards, and gave Alex the benefit of the doubt for over a month asking advice from members here to try and get the boards to work, which they NEVER did. I was entitled to a refund because he said 'guaranteed against DOA' in his ebay listing, and when I asked for one, I got a sob story about how hard it would be to give the money back, to which I was even sympathetic - I offered to accept multiple installments on the REFUND. Alex chose to pay the entire refund in one payment, which I was glad to hear. So I happily returned the boards to him via USPS priority mail at my own expense, and went off on my vacation to a nice backwater without internet access.

I get back into the 'civilized' parts of the world (honestly, people were more civil where there was no internet than they're being to me in this thread) and find I've been screwed out of $325. Of course I contacted paypal and gave them the tracking number - wouldn't you? Of course I checked and saw the package was marked delivered by the carrier and believed THEM instead of Alex Bartonek aka 'Nancy Gonzalez' (his paypal 'name') - wouldn't you?

P.S.: Those of you who suggest 'sending my brother after him' or 'sending him anthrax' or 'sue him' can jump off a bridge. I MIGHT just call Homeland Security after reading that second one!

Sorry mate, I was assuming this was another "Doomy" incident and that was a joke. Nobody in their right mind would threaten to actually send anthrax through the USPS - you have to use Fedex or UPS!

This does look like a huge misunderstanding between the 2 of you and the postal service. I hope you both sort it out.

Lets get a few things straight here Patrick.

1. I use my wife's paypal account. No sense opening up one since I can use that one. (Nice try on trying to make me look bad though I see where you were going.

2. I have the ports board, where are the other 3? You told paypal (I'm going to paraphrase).. basically that you shipped it, there is the conf # and thats it. You know I only have 1 board but are trying to sweep this under the rug.

3. I didnt give you a sob story on a refund. I was getting married and going on a honeymoon the next week. Nevertheless, I decided to refund your money before I went that way you were happy and I trusted you would send my items back.

4. Karma...

EDIT:

5. You're not screwed out of $325. I dont care for the $325, I just want my stuff back. Business is business.

On a side note, if the remaining boards do not show up, I would buy the ports module from you (cos at that point you would have nothing to lose, I reckon).

Well looks like Patrick knows how to scam people. I wish him the worst of luck, may terrible things happen to him and his family.

As long as you ship something to a person and have a tracking #, that means you got your item no matter if it was incomplete and/or everything was not sent.

Cant even trust a fellow Amiga user these days.

Sorry to hear that.

So, is Patrick "The Doom Master"?

Oh well, if Homeland Security turn up at my front door then I'll ask them.

HOw did you pay? Credit card, cash or PayPay? No chance of filing a fraud case with them and getting your cash back? Perhaps reporting the crime to his local police might produce results. They might just drag him in for questioning or discover that he has other complaints against him.

Really sad. I'm fortunate that all my dealings for used Amiga/C128 hardware have gone well, but it shows that we all need to keep our guard up.

it was cash and there's nothing you really can do. The thing is, I already budgeted refunding the $325 after hearing about his problems so I'm not mad that I'm out $325 because that was the right thing to do. I would rather have recieved my items back.

To be honest, everyone here must go by comments posted. These comments damn pkillo 100% in this matter and thus I suspect his details would be gladly given to the Amiga community at large, effectively cutting him off from ever buying or trading goods again. In short, a second Amiga leper would effectively be created - Nobody wants that, especially Doomy as he claims a monopoly on that title

@ pkillo

Do the decent thing mate and get it sorted out, it's better than the alternative :-)
