The 1084S on my Amiga 2000 died today, but I had a spare... :-) The spare, though, has a power switch that won't stay in, so unless I hold it in or jam it with something, it powers off. Is it an easy thing to take the switch off the old screen and put in the spare? I don't want to change psu as it maybe the psu that died on the old screen.
Spare has better picture, anyway. Thanks. Suggestions? It's this 1084S btw - as a ref for the switch: http://flickr.com/photos/blakespot/2372096862/in/set-72157604299491786/ blakespot

I have one with the same problem. I just drilled a couple of holes either side of the ON/OFF switch and screwed a piece of rectangular plastic across the switch to hold it in the ON position. I just turn the monitor ON and OFF at the mains now :-)
EDIT - Just looked at your photo. My 1084S has the ON/OFF switch at the rear. Yours looks a bit older model with the ON/OFF switch at the front, and might be tricky to bodge in the same way :-D

I replaced the original switch from my C= A1942 using a slightly different one (pins for through-hole instead of pads).
Just take the old and compare to ones in any electronic shop.
