Default Quick PSU question

Hi all

My new buddha card has arrived for my A3000. When I get home tonight I will be installing it with a DVD ROM drive to start with. I was wondering does the A3000 PSU have spare power connectors for the DVD ROM or will I need to pop into my local PC shop to get a splitter?

Thanks in advance

Chris

You need another PSU.

A3k one don't have spare/long enough molex connectors to feed an external device.

But all external enclosures (SCSI, mostly) I see over the years have a PSU.

BTW: desktop A3000 don't have internal space to accommodate an internal (with external access) device.

I made up a molex splitter and it works fine (so far!) I might invest in a better PSU.

I'm thinking about changing the case for maybe a tower to allow access for extra drives. That will also make the PSU upgrade easier. Keep the original in the loft in case I decide to sell it in the future.
